Necklace

This is a necklace I made today for my mother. I really love the red beads!
I went to JoAnn's today and they had a ton of beads and beading things on sale! I flipped, I found a few things which I will make into a necklace tomorrow and probably do another post about that. Spent three whole dollars, wowzers.
So anyways,
I just used some:
Stringing wire
two crimp beads
gold toggle
gold seed beads
red smallish beads
spacers
black beads
a little pendant, that i attached to some gold jump rings
and the unnecessary tools for jewelry making

Picture Time?

The pendant, not too sure where I got it

The complete necklace, I find it to be very cute

Strawberry Smoothie with a kick!

So, we have a ton of strawberries that we picked from the strawberry place, strawberry season has come and gone and were left with gobs of profit. Now what should I make with all of this? Hmm, strawberry pie, check. Strawberry in a smoothie? I think so.

I found other various fruits to add, which included:
Blueberries
Banana

All the Ingredients:
Strawberries
Blueberries
Banana
Ice
A dab of sugar
Orange Juice
Strawberry Schnaps

We've had this Strawberry Schnaps for a while but no one has ever tried it...what do you even serve it with? Hmmm, choice choices. How about something not too sweet but super tastey and fruity? SCORE

There is really nothing to this recipe, cut up the ingredients, pour it in the blender, and blend. As easy as one, two, three!

I am so inlove with fresh fruits, I could eat them all day long. The flavor wasn't too sweet, super fresh, and very pretty colored.

flat track motorcycle races

My weekend wasn't very exciting besides for the fact of Saturday evening when my parents and I went and saw some motorcycle races. It was a blast, it was nice to spend some quality time with my parents. We got there at about 6:30pm and got our tickets, they had the pit area open where you could see the riders tents and talk to them and see what kind of ride they had and who there supporters were and stuff (i don't know much about that stuff so my mother and I just fallowed my father around).

Lemme tell you, I am a bit jealous of them. I've always wanted to learn how to ride a dirt bike but my dad will never help/teach me. As good as it gets is a quad, which I also love. I just wish they weren't so strict on the way I have to ride, I mean I am nearly 21. For crying out loud.

The actual races didn't start til about 8pm, they had to get through the introductions and thanking everyone first.

So here's the pictures!

the popcorn model, does it look as good as it tastes?

I got distracted by the sky...

thought the lighting was cool

all in all i enjoyed myself despite the fact that it was like 50f outside, I was sporting two thick sweatshirts and a winter coat, gloves, and a blanket...ahhh finally warm. The breeze was cold and there was a lot of Harley Davidson fans there, but I'm leaning towards the Ducati :)

fajita's ay yi yi!

what's on the menu today? FAJITAS!
This is something that I have never made but I have always wanted to. So I thought i'd give it a go...
I am just using a Fajitas mix I got from the grocery store, you can really add whatever veggie's you like. But I chose a yellow, green peppers, and some onion.

First step is to chop the peppers, you chop them anyway you like really, I think the package suggests you to cut them into strips.

Cut chicken into small strips or chunks,  drizzle a bit of  olive oil in the pan and fry over medium heat til you don't see anymore pink on the meat. Drain pan and set meat aside

Add remaining olive oil to pan and fry veggie's over medium heat til they have a goldeny look to them

Put chicken back into the skillet, with the veggie's. Put in seasoning packet and water and let fry for about five minutes. Stirring occasionally

When it is completely cooked, bring to table, add toppings and ENJOY!
these are the toppings I used

This was a quick and easy recipe. In which you can change it to fit your liking

Recipe
1/2 a green pepper
1/2 a yellow or red pepper
a small onion
seasoning packet
tortilla's
boneless skinless chicken or steak
water
olive oil

Condiment suggestions
sour cream
salsa
lettuce
cheese
tomatoes

Vanilla and Apricot

Vanilla is something that is inserted in nearly every sweet recipe these days. I love vanilla so much that I almost the entire collection of Warm Vanilla Sugar from Bath and Body Works. It smells so good I could eat it! So, I had been wanting to try something different. Seems like you don't find too much apricot in recipes these days.
This is what I came up with....
Vanilla Cake with Apricot and Cream Filling
Apricot and cream? hmm...
What you will need:
1 box French Vanilla Cake Mix
1 1/2 - 2 Jars of Apricot Jam
1 Tub of Whip Cream

This recipe is really easy!
Directions:
1. Make the cake according to the directions on the box
(i used two 8" round pans)
2. Let cake cool completely
3. Cut the top of the cake so it is an even flat surface
4. Place one cake on plate (or wherever you would like to keep it)
5. Layer cream and jam, doesn't matter the order
6. (repeat steps 4 and 5)
7. (repeat step 4)
8. Top with either cream or jam or add something different!
(p.s. I cut the 8" rounds in half so the cake wouldn't be so thick, it was really easy to layer this way)
I hope you enjoy!
