DIY: Chalkboard Coasters

Soo, I actually finished these eons ago. Like January, whoops. :)

ANYWAYS,
this is a tutorial for DIY Chalkboard Coasters.

I found a similar one on Craftgawker this site is like one of my most favorites,  I can spend hours on there, I even have their app on my Ipod :S Seriously so many great crafting ideas, they have sister sites too like Foodgawker which is THE BEST SITE EVAR for recipes. Seriously, peoples blogs about food they've made or crafts they have created! Sounds delish.

So, I made these for my best friend Clare! I thought it was an adorable idea for a birthday present. I almost wanted to steal them; (note to self: dulcie, you already have atleast one coaster on ever surface in your room...grand total: four AKA you DON'T need more).

Errr, uhh, sorry for all the pointless input. Ima get to the real stuff now :P

This is a super cute, fun idea to spice up some coasters!

Stuff you will need:
4 - 4x4 Tiles (can be purchased at lowes, or home depot)
2 - Black sheets of felt
Hot glue or Super glue
Chalkboard Paint (can be purchased at lowes, or home depot)
A space in the garage or basement to paint and something to cover the floor

Step One: When you have found where you are going to paint, lay down a flatten box or an old towel to cover the ground. Lay the tiles out and spray each with an even coat.

Step Two: Let dry (for however long it says on the paint), do another coat then leave to dry overnight. It will look like (below).

When it has dried completely. Now time to add the felt backing.

Step Three: Cut the pieces of felt to match the backing of each tile, you can really use any color I just thought black was more classy. Now it's time for the hot glue, lay a line of glue and then press the felt on it. Continue with the other sides and it will look like this.

and when it is finished it should look like this! All you need is some chalk and you're set!

hope you enjoy and make some yourself!

DIY: Iced Coffee

ICEDCOFFEEICEDCOFFEEICEDCOFFEEICEDCOFFEEICEDCOFFEEICEDCOFFEE

So, I find iced coffee to be extremely good on the days that drinking hot coffee is a little too much! So I was messing around with it earlier, thinking well it cant really be that hard to recreate. So I went for it! Turns out its a lot easier than I anticipated! I was so happy with it that I taught some friends how to make it! I guess we should get to the good stuff now.

The Ingredients:
    • Milk - you can substitute soymilk or whatever you prefer
    • Creamer - whatever your favorite flavor is
    • Instant Coffee -I used the little starbucks packet because thats all we had.
    • Ice

  • Step One: Place the instant coffee inside a tall glass
  • Step Two: Add about 3/4 of the glass milk

  • Step Three: Add in creamer (to desired flavor)
  • Step Four: Fill remainder of the glass with ice
  • Step Five: Stir and Enjoy.

See how easy it is to make at home! I cant believe some people will spend nearly $5 for something identical, or moreover spend the money to get the brand. Seems like a bunch of gibberish to me! Another thing, if you don't have creamer you can always use half and half with some flavoring syrup if you've got it!

I hope you're having a lovely day,

Morgan Ingle w/Four Spacious Guys

On June 2, 2012 my bestie and I decided to go see a show at the local art gallery place thingy aka The Box Factory. Its a really nice set-up they have going on there, in the main part of the building there are places where artists hang there work and a little stage. In the back however, they have a lot of classrooms where some you can rent out and make into your own studio, and others are used for classes which you can sign up to take. Its really a cool little place.

So the main reason we went to the show is because my friends old co-worker's band was playing (they're the Four Spacious Guys part), but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they covered songs and added all these instruments and sounds to it to make the music sound really good. So I give them props for that. I on the otherhand was not blessed musically and I admire the people who are! Like my best friend Clare! Morgan Ingle is also a local singer and she sang a couple songs with Four Spacious Guys.

Anywho, below are a few pictures and videos from the night. Some of them kind of suck because of some of the poeple in front of us, they're heads are in the way...so sorry!!

(the guy we know is the one in the back in the black shirt, he does all the tambourine, hand drums, maracas, and other things like that).

Anyways, til next time!
